The San José State Spartans (20-13) men’s basketball team has accepted a bid into the 2023 Discount Tires College Basketball Invitational tournament, allowing this historic season to continue.
The 16-team, single elimination, tournament will be held at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida from March 18-22.
The Spartans enter the dance as the No. 2 seed and will play the No. 15 seeded Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (16-16) on Saturday, March 18th. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (Central Time) and will be televised on FloHoops.

This marks the sixth postseason appearance in program history for SJSU & marks the second appearance in the CBI. The Spartans lost at Creighton, 85-74, in the first round of the 2011 CBI.

This also marks the first time in school history that the SJSU men’s basketball program played in the postseason & the SJSU football program played in a Bowl Game in the same academic year.
This is a huge step in the right direction for the program.
