I hope this is accurate so I don’t look like a fool posting this blog, but according to Matt Schneidman from The Athletic, the Green Bay Packers 2023 schedule has been released!
There are five prime time games even without Aaron Rodgers
The transfer of Chicago Bears ownership gets done immediately, as the Packers play the Bears at Soldier Field in Week 1 on Sunday, September 10th at 3:25 pm (Central Time).
Thanksgiving (November 23rd) is in Detroit.
Devante Adams vs. the Packers for the first time in Week 5 on Monday Night Football on October 9th.
Another early bye (Week 6).
The Super Bowl champs at Lambeau for Sunday Night Football in Week 13 on December 3rd.
The Packers don’t play a 2022 playoff team until Week 8.
Baker Mayfield scheduled to visit Lambeau Field in December for the third consecutive season with his third different team. He’s lost the last two & thrown five interceptions.
Including the bye week, the Packers have just two home games in the first seven weeks of the season, which I don’t like. That’s the first 50 days of the NFL regular season schedule & those two home games come four days apart.
Here’s the full schedule:

I’m also not a fan that both Lions games are on Thursday’s.
Here’s some other minor takeaways:
- From September 29-October 21, the Packers only have one game (MNF on the road), which feels very weird.
- No three game road trip.
- No three game home stand.
- No really tough travel, worst back-to-back travel is at Panthers followed by at Vikings.
- Six national games — Green Bay is still a draw.
- Play on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve all on the road.
- Only one short rest game (as a disadvantage) — home vs. Tampa Bay after MNF.
- Only two prime time home games (Lions TNF & Chiefs SNF).
- Love vs. Fields Week 1 is amazing.
- Looks like 17-0.
