San José State Spartans Baseball Headed To The Big Dance!

The San José State Spartans (31-25) baseball team have made it to the big dance where they’ll play in the NCAA Tournament Stanford Regional! It’s the first appearance in a NCAA Tournament Regional for SJSU since 2002!

The Spartans received the No. 4 seed in the Region & will open up the tournament against the No. 1 seed & No. 6 ranked nationally Stanford Cardinal (38-16) on Friday, June 2nd at 4:00 p.m. (Central)/2:00 p.m. (Pacific). The game will be televised on ESPN+.

Joining SJSU & Stanford in the Stanford Regional are the No. 3 seed Cal State Fullerton Titans (31-22) & the No. 2 seed Texas A&M Aggies (36-25).

The Spartans got the automatic bid to the tournament by winning their first ever Mountain West Conference Tournament title. SJSU also were the co-champs of the MWC in the regular season along with the San Diego State Aztecs.

SJSU head coach Brad Sanfilippo was named the Mountain West Coach of the Year.

The Spartans are looking to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time since 2000, which was the last time they advanced to the College World Series.
