After 29 years with the program, the past 17 years as head coach, Scott Doffek has announced his retirement as the UW-Milwaukee Panthers head baseball coach.
“This position has been most of my adult life,” Doffek said. “I got out of professional baseball as a player and just sort of happened into this and then made a life out of it. I just feel a lot of gratitude for everyone that has come along the way with me.”
Doffek leaves UWM as the winningest head coach in program history with a 438-462-2 (.487) career record.
There were 24 Panthers drafted to the MLB during the Doffek era.
Doffek was also named the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association College Coach of the Year in 2013 & is a two-time Horizon League Coach of the Year.
UWM associate head coach Shaun Wegner will serve as the team’s interim head coach.
