I’m old enough to remember a time when the Green Bay Packers never lost at Lambeau Field. Unfortunately, that’s not so much the case anymore.
The Packers (2-2) got a good old fashioned ass-whooping tonight at home in prime time to the Detroit Lions (3-1), 34-20.

From 1971-2014, the Detroit Lions were 5-27-1 (.167) at Lambeau Field.
With their win tonight, the Lions are 5-4 (.556) at Lambeau Field since 2015.
After tonight, Dan Campbell owns Matt LaFleur & he knows it. The Lions killed the Packers on both lines of scrimmage.
It was an embarrassing L, but there’s a lot of season left for this young Packers team.
Of all the things, the amount of Honolulu Blue at Lambeau tonight was disgusting.
The Packers need to get rid of the Gold Package. They haven’t played in Milwaukee in 30 years. No reason to make separate ticket packages. One package, all games. Buy the people out if you have to. This can’t be a thing with what the crowd looked like tonight.
Back to the game – this was embarrassing. No other way to put it.
“Young football team” excuse doesn’t really work here. This was an unacceptable performance across the board.
You talk about physicality married with passion, but you also talk about physicality married with passion & good technique, good solid football. The Packers are all over the map. There’s no cohesion, there’s no physicalness, there’s no passion. It’s hard to watch & it is definitely hard to watch two weeks in a row.
Slow starts the last two games have plagued the Packers.
Green Bay has been outscored 44-3 in the first half these last two games & tonight the deficit was too much to overcome.
The Packers defense was very bad tonight, but the offense was even worse.
It was a very tough night for the O-Line tonight.
Matt LaFleur’s play calling in the first half & even a bit in the second half was a joke. I tweeted out during the first half that Matt has lost his marbles.
Matt’s approach to this game was an absolute joke! It’s beyond my comprehension that he came into this game with the mindset of throwing the ball down field & didn’t run the ball once until the third drive of the game. What has led you to think that you are up for that challenge?!?!
I just don’t understand how you don’t play some boring football out the gate to get into the rhythm.
I just don’t understand what they are seeing & thinking when it comes to their approaches to these games where they’re operating as if they have a veteran seasoned squad.
He even said it in his post game press conference that they need to run the ball & that it takes the pressure off the quarterback …. No shit!!! Maybe do that from the start!
Green Bay had 20 total yards in the first half!
This is a veteran coaching group that keeps putting their players in bad situations.
You look at the defense & Joe Barry continuously putting two down lineman, when a team is running with the lead in the second half. Then inexplicably finally gets a stop near the goal line, & then decides “Now I’m going back to my two man front, I don’t need to stop the run” to allow the Lions to just walk into the end zone.
Hitting seems like a suggestion for this team. If I see one more running play from an opposing team, where a Packer or even two Packers hit the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage or two or three yards past the line of scrimmage & the ball carrier ends up getting three, four, even five more yards after contact I am going to blow a gasket.
That’s not a tough team. That’s not a team that has any interest in the physical aspects of the game of football. It’s so disheartening. And Joe doesn’t help anything in this regard because he keeps playing this passive bullshit.
Matt LaFleur postgame said something has to change.
Remember what he said after the Atlanta game? “You saw it, we got manhandled, it was embarrassing,” or whatever he said. Well, it seemed acceptable tonight. He’s right … something has to change, but nothing ever changes! So great, yeah, something’s gotta change. Then change it! You’re the head coach! Demand different!
I don’t even want to say demand better, just demand different. Because what you’re doing now … again, & again, & again … is getting your ass kicked!
Special Teams has gotten progressively worse this year.
It feels like the Quay Walker penalty that Quay didn’t know the rule. Why the F didn’t he know the rule?! That’s on the coaches! That’s pretty simple. Or I should say the coach of the Special Teams, that’s part of the reason why they’re there … to inform the players of the rules.
Now that’s not to excuse Quay. You’re a player in the NFL, you should know the rules. But it’s also incumbent upon the coaches to reiterate the rules.
Keisean “I don’t do fair catches” Nixon continuously trying to run it out from the end zone, & getting tackled at the 19-20 yard line & putting them behind the sticks again. They had so many drives that started inside their 20 because of these ridiculous attempts at a run back. I understand, everyone including him, wants him to bust one like he did against Minnesota. At some point, don’t you have to as a coach tell him to stop because he’s putting the team in bad situations?!
Joe Barry calls plays like he’s up 21 & Matt LaFleur calls plays like he’s down 21 regardless of the score.
That’s my rant.
Hopefully this mini-bye helps out.
