Chucky Hepburn informed the coaching staff last night & made it official today that he has entered the transfer portal, moving on from the University of Wisconsin.

If every Badgers fan that has complained about transfers & called for Greg Gard to be fired contributed to the Varsity Collective, we would be able to afford Chucky Hepburn & AJ Storr 10x over!
Transfers today have very little to do with coaching, & everything to do with money.
I don’t like it either, but that’s the reality of college athletics & the broken system we have today.
When there is no protection for schools, players go to the highest bidder. That’s the only thing that matters.
There will never be another Tyler Wahl type player that chooses to stay & developing over 4-5 years & turning down offers to go elsewhere.
Chucky would have gone down as an all-time Badger no matter how his senior year played out. This one doesn’t just sting, it’s a 100 MPH fastball to the nuts.
I’m not hating on the guy for making a business decision that he thinks is best for him. Still wish Chucky all the best – good kid, good family….
It’s just tough to watch as a Badgers fan. Just sad.
I also wouldn’t mind the unbearable “Fire Gard” crowd who call themselves “fans” to enter the transfer portal.
A Blackwell/Freitag backcourt for Wisconsin going forward is going to be a problem for the rest of college basketball.
