The Wisconsin Badgers begin the 2024 campaign 1-0 after an uninspiring 28-14 win over the Western Michigan Broncos at Camp Randall Stadium. Usually if you’re a good team, you dominate your buy games.
Good thing the Ghost of Brett Bell still haunts Camp Randall Stadium. Took over the body of Western Michigan’s DaShon Bussell, who inadvertently got in the way of a bouncing punt from Atticus Bertrams. Badgers recovered and erased a fourth quarter deficit with a touchdown.
Trech, Wohler, Chaney & a few others looked legit tonight. Mellusi is a gamer.
It appears that the Defensive line is going to be the problem many thought.
Who knows what this team would have looked like, but I do know they were well coached prior to the Fickell era. I no longer have that feeling under this staff.
I messaged my buddy: “We may squeak this one out, but this game & last year tells me this program is in trouble.”
At least we have a coach that wears a vest with cool slogans on the back. It feels like we have become Minnesota.
Wisconsin will have to be better to beat South Dakota next Saturday.
That’s all I got for tonight. Don’t have much left in me to give more thoughts on the game.
