The No. 22 Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors battled back from an 11-point halftime deficit to take a two point lead, but ultimately fell short in a 59-56 loss against No. 17 WashU in the Division 3 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in La Crosse, Wisconsin at Mitchell Hall.
It’s the second consecutive season that WashU has ended WLC’s season in the NCAA Tournament. Last year was an overtime thriller in the First Round at WashU in the WU Field House in St. Louis, Missouri.
WLC, making their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history, won their first two games in the dance in program history last weekend, while advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time. The Warriors also became just the second team in the 19-year history of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) to win at least two games in the tournament.
Eight players from WLC will depart after leaving an indelible imprint on Warriors Basketball.
Wisconsin Lutheran finishes their historic 2024-2025 season with an overall record of 27-4.
