The Milwaukee Bucks 2024-25 season comes to a heartbreaking conclusion at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in a 119-118 overtime loss in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs First Round.
The Bucks played well enough to win this game, unfortunately so did the Indiana Pacers.
Milwaukee held a 118-111 lead with 40 seconds left in overtime after AJ Green split his free throws.
To me, the biggest basket of the game came from Andrew Nembhard when he hit a 3-pointer to make it a 118-114 game with 34 seconds left.
After that, you got the feeling like “we still have work to do, this game is far from over. Gotta make our free throws, get stops & take care of the ball.” Then disaster struck.
It’s going to be a loud offseason for the Bucks. You’re going to hear lots of Giannis trade talks. Just get used to it.
I’ve got news for you, Giannis isn’t getting traded this offseason.
The Bucks don’t only any of their first round draft assets until 2031, so it wouldn’t be beneficial for the Bucks to “tear it down” & rebuild.
Milwaukee is in a complicated situation. The Khris Middleton trade did open up a little bit of flexibility. There’s some young talent that I’d like to see Milwaukee keep & continue to develop.
With Mike Budenholzer off the payroll now after this season, I think it’s very realistic the Bucks have some talks and decision making regarding the future of Glenn Rivers as the Head Coach of the franchise.
On the bright side, the Bucks can’t lose another game until at least Summer League.
