On June 17th Adrienne Clark stepped down as the Head Coach of the Hofstra Pride softball program after four seasons at the helm of her alma mater. The program went 22-28 overall and 15-12 in CAA play in 2025.
After talking with a close friend who was a pitcher for Hofstra, it was a mutual decision for the departure.
During Clark’s tenure, the Pride went 95-108 (.468) overall and 61-35 (.635) in CAA play. The program won the CAA tournament to get the auto-bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2023 playing in the Norman Regional.
I thought Clark did a pretty good job considering the mess she took over for after Jay Miller’s disastrous three seasons in Hempstead that set the program back.
I’m very intrigued as to who Hofstra names the next head coach.
Nikki Amodeo was named interim head coach while the national search is going on.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Amodeo get the permanent gig. She’s young, but I like her resume.
Another candidate I’d like to see get a chance at taking over is alum Courtney Oliver-Elkins who has head coaching experience when she went 125-166 (.430) in six seasons at the helm of the East Carolina Pirates program. Oliver-Elkins is currently the pitching coach at Wichita State.
