The Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey team took down the Ohio State Buckeyes, 3-2, in the National Championship game for their second consecutive title.
The Badgers took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. After a scoreless second period, the Badgers were 20 minutes away. But the Buckeyes had other ideas.
Kassidy Carmichael scored 3:32 into the third period and Jocelyn Amos scored 5:34 into the third to tie the game at 2-2.
However, Claire Enright scored the game winner with 6:18 remaining in the third period.
The Wisconsin women’s hockey dynasty continues. This is the ninth national championship in program history – the most of any school in the country.
The Badgers finished the season with 35 wins, which is tied for fourth-most in program history.
Mark Johnson has coached the Badgers to all nine of their National Championships, has 702 career wins – the most all-time in women’s hockey, 11 WCHA regular season titles, 11 WCHA tournament titles, 17 trips to the Frozen Four. Certified GOAT 🐐.

The Badgers had a “drought” from their 2011 Natty until they finally won it again in 2019. The Badgers have won five National Championships since 2019. Don’t take this success for granted.
Wisconsin will host a welcome home event for the nine-time National Champions on Monday night at LaBahn Arena. The event is slated to begin at 6:30 PM (CT).
