The Wisconsin Badgers (33-19) take down the Baylor Bears (28-27), 2-1, in nine innings after a Hannah Conger walk-off single. It’s Conger’s third walk-off hit of the season.
Shelby Jacobson gets the win to improve her record to 15-9 on the season. I thought she pitched a pretty good game, outside of issuing six walks.
The Badgers had five hits from five different players today and six walks from six different players.
The play of the game might have came in the Top of the 8th inning when Baylor had a runner on second base with zero out, when Kaylie Whidden caught a line drive and tagged second base for an unassisted double play to keep it a 1-1 game.
Wisconsin will play the winner of the Texas Longhorns (42-10) and Wagner Seahawks (22-26) game – which gets underway here momentarily – tomorrow at 12:00 PM (CDT) from Red & Charline McCombs Field in the Austin Regional in the NCAA Tournament. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
