After 14 years with the franchise and the past eight seasons as head coach, Corey Roberson will be moving on from the Green Bay Blizzard.
The Blizzard announced the move on X this morning with a post.
Roberson leaves as the franchise’s winningest head coach, compiling a regular season record of 65-51 (.560) and a 5-4 (.556) record in the playoffs. Roberson also won the IFL Coach of the Year honors in 2019 and 2024.
The Blizzard are coming off back-to-back Eastern Conference Championships and consecutive appearances in the IFL title game. Roberson had a hell of a run as the head coach after taking over on an interim basis halfway through the 2018 season when the franchise was in shambles.
There are rumors that Corey Roberson will be the next head coach of the New Mexico Chupacabras. Time will tell if they’re accurate or not.
It’s going to be an important hire for Larry and Kathy Treankler to make this offseason on who the next head coach will be.
This is pure speculation on my part, but current Blizzard Offensive Coordinator Matt Behrendt could be a potential replacement.
