The San José State Spartans and Washington Huskies football programs have agreed to a future non-conference game in Seattle, Washington on September 17, 2033.
It will be the 11th all-time meeting between the two programs in a series that dates back to 1958, but the first matchup since 2006. Washington leads the series 10-0 and all 10 games have been played in Seattle.
“Competing against premier programs in iconic venues like Husky Stadium provides a terrific test for our student-athletes and an exciting matchup for our alumni and fans,” SJSU Director of Athletics Jeff Konya said.
It’s great that SJSU is scheduling these programs to the non-conference schedule. I just hope Ken Niumatalolo continues to build this program. There’s been progress with the program over the past roughly six years, but there’s a long ways to go yet.
