The Wisconsin Badgers (16-12, 8-10 B1G) played a hell of a game on the road in Ann Arbor this afternoon. Unfortunately, UW doesn’t have a lot of wiggle room for moral victories right now, as the Badgers lost a heartbreaker in overtime, 87-79, to the Michigan Wolverines (17-12, 11-7 B1G).

What a painful ending.
The last Michigan possession of regulation, Hunter Dickinson threw up a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game and force overtime.
For those of you in the “foul up by three” crowd, you bring in too much uncertainty including losing in regulation by fouling.
The last possession was played right. Jordan Davis just needs to let the ball go over his head, Dickinson catches the ball going away from the basket and the Badgers celebrate, instead Jordan took a gamble and tried to make a play most kids would and misses it and Dickinson has a look.
We could be talking about Connor Essegian and all of his clutch drives to the hoop. We could be talking about Max Klesmit and his clutch 3’s and blocks. Could be talking about Kamari McGee and his clutch free throw’s, too. We could be talking about a win. But Hunter Dickinson’s clutch catch/shot trumped all and awakened the “foul up 3” crowd and want Greg Gard fired.
It’s tiring listening to this fan base, whether on social media or in person or via messages, after a gut wrenching loss.
Greg Gard arguably coached his best game of the season today, yet the “foul up 3” crowd are on one today.
Chucky Hepburn left the game in the second half, was walking with a slight limp after the game with no brace. The fact that there’s no brace is a good thing, but there’s no official update yet.
Maybe someday I’ll be mature enough to not let sports games effect my happiness.
And when I say someday, I know this will never happen and I’ll instead die in a bad mood because one of my teams will have lost that same day.
The Badgers can’t let this loss turn into an L on Thursday. Tough one to take today. Learn from it and get ready for the Thursday.
Up Next:
