I’ve been looking for some new ideas on what to blog about, so I figured I’d do a “stadium series” on stadiums that I’ve been to, whether it’s football, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc., regardless of whether it’s a professional sports venue, college venue or a “neutral site” venue.
We’re going to get started with American Family Field, formerly known as Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers since 2001. It will always be known Miller Park for me.
While the Brewers were playing at Milwaukee County Stadium next door, which home plate from County Stadium is still in the parking lot of American Family Field where Helfaer Field is located, construction broke ground for Am Fam on November 9, 1996 & construction was finished in 2001, allowing the first game in the new ballpark to be played on April 6, 2001.
The seating capacity for American Family Field is 41,900, although it can hold more with standing room.
I may be a little bit biased, but this ballpark is my most favorite of the MLB parks that I’ve been to.
It’s a beautiful stadium & there’s really not a bad seat in the house. If you’re in the far right field sections or far left field sections, you are a little closed off on seeing plays near the foul poles on each end, but other than that, it’s great!
Beers, brats & baseball, how can you not be romantic about that?
You can even watch the Sausage Race at the game!
Here’s a beautiful view from the fourth deck with the roof open:

The fans are great & they get really into it. Especially in the playoffs, it’s really rockin’ in the stadium.
I’ve been to many games here & I’ll be at many more!
If you are into checking out stadiums, I’d highly recommend checking out American Family Field, you will not be disappointed!
If you’ve been to American Family Field, feel free to let me know your thoughts on the stadium in the comments section!
