On a night where the 2014 & 2015 Final Four teams were honored, the Wisconsin Badgers (4-0) took down the No. 9 Arizona Wildcats (2-1) at the Kohl Center 103-88, leading wire-to-wire. A convincing performance from Greg Gard’s team tonight.

Rough night for the “Fire Gard” crowd. Hate to see it.

I’ll have to rewatch the game this weekend, but the thing I enjoyed the most is Wisconsin was aggressive from the jump & didn’t wait for the game to settle in & get punched first.

On a night with Frank Kaminsky in the house, John Tonje fittingly put on an offensive show, scoring a career high 41 points. Tonje set a school record by making 21 free throws in the game.

UW set a school record by going 41-for-47 at the free throw line. Arizona was 28-for-40 at the free throw line.

The way Tommy Lloyd was talking in his post game presser, you’d think Wisconsin shot 90 free throws to Arizona’s 10.

Wisconsin built an 18-point first half lead before taking a 55-44 lead into halftime. However, the defense was getting shredded the first few minutes of the second half as Arizona started on a 7-0 run before UW regrouped.

Arizona crushed UW on the offensive glass (24-2), leading to a 24-5 edge in second chance points. The problem for them was they were 4-for-23 from the perimeter, including 0-for-10 in the second half.

UW redshirt freshman Jack Janiciki, a preferred walk-on from Minnesota, came into tonight’s game with zero points in just over 21 minutes on the season. He scored nine points, hitting 2-of-4 from three in 19 minutes. The staff thought he could eventually develop into a contributor … might be ahead of schedule?

Great day to be a Badger! On Wisconsin!
