Talking Milwaukee Brewers Baseball

As I get this column started, I’d like to remind you all of my Patreon community. That community is a big part of my website & my other social media accounts (YouTube, Twitch, etc.). If you’d like to become a member, you can go to https://www.patreon.com/nickobot.

So I usually try to avoid talking negatively about the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club publicly. For those of you that know me, you can understand why.

But after hearing about some of the comments from owner Mark Attanasio yesterday, it really bothered me.

I’m going to start by saying something nice and say that yes the Brewers have been more competitive since he took over, no question about it, although the bar wasn’t set very high due to the Brewers being a minor league team playing at the major league level from the mid-1980’s to the mid-2000’s.

One comment he made was: “My goal, from an ownership standpoint, is to always compete.”

Which yes, that’s a given for ANY sports program. Problem is he only wants to be competitive, win the division/make the playoffs so he can pocket more coin from the fans, while not making any serious attempt at a title.

The statement from him that really irked me was this one:

In Attanasio’s occupation, yes it is your job and goal to win a World Series. If that’s not his intentions and goals, then he needs to sell the team immediately!

You know what would be a great way to celebrate and bring families together? A World Series parade. They’re a blast from what I’ve been told.

You know what’s really entertaining? The World Series. It’s a lot of fun.

This is an unserious franchise with an unserious owner. Mark Attanasio doesn’t deserve the fandom we’ve given the team.

I’ve had a front row seat to how the operation is ran, so when people question why I’m always negative about the franchise and why my fandom has to a degree been ruined, it’s because of the current ownership and his asinine comments and running the franchise like an Amateur Organization.

Why should anyone care when the owner himself doesn’t even care?

Brewers fans should turn their support to the UW-Milwaukee Panthers baseball program instead.

Mark should do the right thing and sell the team so he can put his focus on entertainment and bringing families together for the Norwich City Football Club that he owns.

Anyway, there’s my rant. Hope you enjoyed. Let’s get ready to watch the Brewers be competitive and lose in the first round of the playoffs (AGAIN) if they even make it to the postseason!
