The San Jose State Spartans men’s basketball team is headed to the 2025 NIT! It’s the first appearance in the NIT for SJSU since 1981 and second postseason appearance in the past three seasons.
What a time to be alive for Spartans fans!
The No. 4 seeded Spartans (15-19) in the San Francisco Region will host the Loyola Chicago Ramblers (22-11) at the Provident Credit Union Event Center on the SJSU campus in the first round. Tipoff is set for 10:00 pm (Central Time) on Wednesday, March 19, with the game being televised on ESPN2.
“This is an important step for the building that is going on with the SJSU basketball program,” Director of Athletics Jeff Konya said. “I trust Spartan Nation will fully support the team as they begin this journey, an NIT journey that has not been embarked on since 1981.”
“We’re excited about this opportunity,” SJSU head coach Tim Miles said. “Our guys have worked hard all season and are ready to keep competing.”
