The Wisconsin Badgers (23-12-2) are headed to the Frozen Four in Las Vegas!
In the NCAA Worcester Regional Final at the DCU Center in Worchester, Massachusetts, the #2 seeded Badgers overcame a 3-1 deficit in the final 11:27 of the third period against Big Ten rival Michigan State, scoring two goals 34-seconds apart in the final five minutes of regulation to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime. Gavin Morrissey scored 24 seconds into overtime to give the Badgers the 4-3 victory sending the program to the Frozen Four for the first time since 2010.
UW Goalie Daniel Hauser made 24 saves, while Michigan State’s goalie Trey Augustine saved 34.
Wisconsin will face the North Dakota Fighting Hawks (29-9-1) on Thursday, April 9th. Game time will be either 4:00 or 7:30 PM (CT) and televised on ESPN2.
Tomorrow the other half of the Frozen Four will be decided with the Michigan vs. Minnesota Deluth game and Denver vs. Western Michigan game.
